Handicrafts Emporium is also actively involved in marketing of goods to the outside countries through exhibitions, Trade Fairs and advertising in in-flight magazines and personally contacting the clients and also through other Medias. Emporium mainly concentrates on tourist to sell the products from the sales counter during the peak tourist seasons.
At national level, the marketing / sales are done through advertisement in the national newspaper, school magazines and national television and also disposing by offering discounts and sale during the occasions on certain items for fast revolution of craftsmen’s funds.
Emporium leaves no stone unturned by making the best use of existing medias to promote their business, there are few concerns like difficulty in maintaining constant supply of uniformed goods for the reason that majority of the producer are illiterate, scattered in rural areas and also of considerable distance between the producer and the marketing site.
National Handloom Development Centre (NHDC) is situated in Khaling in Eastern Bhutan. It’s an NGO attached to the National Women’s Association of Bhutan (NWAB) which is involved mainly in providing technical training on design and weaving techniques and also natural dyeing techniques.
NHDC, Khaling supply the natural dyed yarns to the rural weavers and and collect the finished products from them and supply to the National Handicrafts Emporium to sell and find the markets in and outside the countries.
